search of the grounds and that we will have canine units out. they will do a real search. >> this is what we're seeing out here right now within the last 15 to 20 minutes more resources have started to pour into this elementary school area. this is a rather large campus. they will have canine units out on the ground. the lasting that that one is for any weapons to be left behind and children to be able to find them. >> this morning san jose police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a teenager in san jose. the team was found with a stab wounds or around 3:00 yesterday in the 300 block of north 21st street, near san jose high

joins us live. >> there is still a big presence. we are a little more than 12 hours after the shooting took place. you can see crime scene investigators and also detectives from the alameda county sheriff's department still on the ground at hillside elementary school. because of that they have canceled school for the day. there is still a lot of questions swirling around. exactly what happened. around 845 last night the alameda county sheriff's department received a call of the shooting of a school grounds of hillside elementary school in the unincorporated san leandro. when they arrived they discovered one victim who had been shot. the victim was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. there is no of the description of it and he was a young adult male. no idea exactly what led up to the shooting. i can tell you at that point

investigators and detectives came out scowling the school grounds because of that that is why around 6:00 this morning they set out a mass telephone call to the students is that canceling school at hillside elementary for the day. >> reason is because they are scouring the ground. we had a chance to talk to a spokesperson from the alameda county sheriff department. talk about what they're looking for. >> you will see a surge of the grounds with deputies will have canines that will lose an article search. those kinds of things. they will do a real comprehensive search of the ground that is what you will see. >> that is what we have seen of the last couple of hours. they have k-9 unit here. at one point this morning alameda county fire department came out and brought ladders and went on the roof. they are looking for evidence of more importantly they are looking for any weapon that would

took about 12 hours for them to clear the campus to make sure there is no evidence or a weapon left behind from this overnight shooting. what we know is around 845 out of it county sheriff's department received a call to hillside elementary school saying there had been a shooting. when they arrived they discovered one victim who had been shot. the victim was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. >> not a lot of details about the victim or why he was on campus at the time. he was a young adult male. not a lot of informations coming from the alameda county sheriff's department. because of the fact that our scowling a school for evidence and making sure there was not a weapon that was on campus at some point early this morning school administrators from san leandro unified school district and the school itself decided would be best to cancel altogether for the
